Camp Pictures!

Hello! It's been a while since the last update...! Here's a quick recap: Taylor and Harry made it to France! They are getting settled in at different camps. Shannon and Bernie are having an awesome time, and have been through two weeks of camp now! Each group of kids stays for five days, and usually we have about 50 kids in one session, and 8 to 10 counselors. Anyways, I stole some pictures from our friends facebook albums, Keith and Joy--THANK YOU (even though I didn't ask) to give you a little glimpse into the past two weeks.

Leo and Grandpa

Le Soccer!

One of the many, many skits. These get crazy, as we do them every day and half the time the kids don't know what we're saying, so they are basically full of many inside jokes. Also, men in dresses is always funny.

Very cute children here in France

Shannon teaching the kids Kumbaya....she did it again at the end, but not before one of the French teachers utters "Oh not again!" Ha! What do the French know about campfires anyways?

Tour de Buis, where we live and work, from far away. This country is one giant painting!

Our Shapely Chef!!!!!

View from a classroom

Very French looking, and beautiful

This girl was an amazing dancer! And just a little sweety too

Tour de Buis, view from where we stay. The building in the picture is where the children stay, where we teach ESL, do activities, and also has the kitchen/cafe on the main floor.

Children leaving....of course this kid Luke in between Joy and Bernie is our favorite, and we were trying to get a picture with him, but everyone decided to jump in too. Note the girl we made duck down in front of Luke.

Aughhhhh they are all so frickin cute!!!! This one was tiny

They are always sad to leave us. ALWAYS.

Graduation day!

Kazoo and her favorite this week. He was obviously very, very adorable

My new family, yes I adopted five french children. They are all awesome, and we love curly hair too. Basil is in the background, looking very upset at being left out

Harassing the children at the Thursday night dance, of course

This kid was awesome, named him and his friend Michael and Jackson after Michael Jackson. He was always bustin a move at the dinner table.

Ha! Gettin' purty for the dance

I played Bouncer this week, checking the kids id's, etc. Note the two models in the back, they might have been the collective favorites.

More pictures coming soon! Non camp ones especially....

Packing...

Hello and welcome! Bernie here, just getting packed and ready to go...I'm flying out tomorrow morning and meeting Shannon in London Wednesday morning, bright and early at 7AM. That would be 2AM North Carolina time. Hmmm. This week, we are going to Amsterdam on Thursday and we'll be in Paris by Saturday night. I'm not sure about the internet situation but we'll post some pictures and updates when we get a few minutes. In the mean time, last minute Walmart runs and a couple goodbyes are in order, not to mention finish packing. Luckily, I have Sam to help me with that. Bon voyage!
